1. Scope

RobotEd sells robotics kits, electronic components, 3D-printed components, accessories, documentation, build guides, and downloadable files relating to open-source robotics projects.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, RobotEd is an independent retailer and manufacturer of compatible components and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the original developers of third-party open-source projects.

2. Product information

RobotEd makes reasonable efforts to keep product descriptions, images, compatibility information, specifications, and prices accurate. Minor surface, layer-texture, and colour variations are normal characteristics of 3D printing and are not defects where the part remains suitable for its intended purpose.

The exact contents of each kit are specified on the applicable product page. Products labelled Printed Parts or Print Pack contain only the listed components; electronics, motors, fasteners, and other items are excluded unless expressly stated.

3. Open-source projects

Underlying source files remain subject to the applicable licences and ownership rights of their authors. Where required, RobotEd provides attribution, licence information, and source links. Open-source licences do not necessarily grant rights to third-party trademarks, names, or logos, and RobotEd does not claim ownership of them.

4. Orders and contract formation

Products displayed on roboted.ch are an invitation to place an order. Before submission, customers can review and correct their products, quantities, prices, shipping method, total, and delivery information. Activating the checkout button indicating an obligation to pay submits a binding order.

RobotEd confirms receipt electronically and may reject or cancel an order if a product is unavailable, an obvious error occurred, payment cannot be completed, fraud is reasonably suspected, or fulfilment is unlawful or impossible. Amounts already received for a cancelled order will be refunded.

5. Prices

Prices are in Swiss francs (CHF), with shipping shown separately before submission. RobotEd is currently not registered for Swiss VAT and therefore does not separately charge Swiss VAT. Prices may change at any time; the price at order submission applies.

6. Payment

Payments are processed through Stripe and the methods displayed at checkout. An order is considered paid only after successful payment-provider confirmation. RobotEd does not normally receive or store full card numbers.

7. Availability and production

Products may be in stock, low stock, made to order, temporarily unavailable, out of stock, or coming soon. Made-to-order 3D-printed products are normally produced after ordering. Processing and production times are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. RobotEd will contact customers if a material delay occurs.

8. Shipping

RobotEd initially ships physical products to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Stocked products normally dispatch within one working day; made-to-order printed products normally dispatch within 2–4 working days unless another lead time is shown. Swiss Post delivery times are normal carrier estimates after dispatch and are not guaranteed. Customers must provide a complete and accurate address.

9. Voluntary 14-day returns

RobotEd voluntarily accepts standard-product returns within 14 days after receipt. Contact support@roboted.ch before sending anything back. Change-of-mind returns must be complete, unused or reasonably inspected, undamaged, accompanied by all components, and reasonably resellable. The customer normally pays return shipping and original shipping charges are not normally refunded.

Customer-specific products, including custom dimensions, modifications, materials, colours, or other individualized specifications, may be excluded from change-of-mind returns once production starts. This does not affect defective, damaged, or incorrectly supplied products.

10. Defective, incorrect, or damaged products

Contact support@roboted.ch if an item arrives damaged, is defective, is missing components, differs materially from the order, or cannot perform expressly promised characteristics. RobotEd may request photographs or diagnostic information. Where practical, individual defective or missing components will be replaced instead of requiring a complete-kit return. Where attributable to RobotEd, reasonable replacement or return shipping is covered. Statutory warranty rights remain reserved.

11. 3D-printed components

3D-printed parts may show layer lines, support marks, and small cosmetic variations. RobotEd performs reasonable quality checks before shipment. Customers must inspect structural parts and stop using them if cracking, deformation, layer separation, or other damage appears. Unless expressly sold assembled, printed components are supplied for customer assembly.

12. Robotics and safety

Robotics products may contain moving mechanisms, electrical systems, batteries, and motors capable of causing injury or property damage if assembled or operated incorrectly. Customers must follow safety instructions, use suitable power supplies, supervise children where appropriate, inspect products before operation, and stop using damaged or unsafe equipment. Documentation does not replace appropriate technical judgment or professional safety requirements.

13. Free downloads and documentation

STL, STEP, CAD, PDF, software, BOM, and other files may be provided free of charge. Third-party files remain subject to their licences; RobotEd-created files may have a separate licence. Unless expressly stated, files and documentation are provided without a guarantee of suitability for every configuration or application.

14. Intellectual property

The RobotEd name, website design, original photography, original documentation, branding, and other RobotEd-created content are protected unless released under an identified open licence. Third-party works remain governed by their licences. Nothing transfers ownership of third-party intellectual property.

15. Liability

RobotEd is liable in accordance with mandatory Swiss law. To the extent permitted, RobotEd is not responsible for damage caused by incorrect assembly, unsuitable modifications, use outside the intended application, incompatible components, ignored safety instructions, incorrect electrical connections or power supplies, or continued use after visible damage. Nothing excludes liability where prohibited by law.

16. Data protection

Personal data is processed in accordance with the RobotEd Privacy Policy.

17. Changes

RobotEd may update these Terms. The Terms applicable to an order are those made available when that order was placed.

18. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Swiss law. Mandatory consumer-protection rules regarding jurisdiction remain unaffected, including a consumer's statutory right to bring proceedings at a legally permitted place of jurisdiction.

19. Contact

Questions about orders, products, returns, or these Terms may be sent to support@roboted.ch.
