Help and answers
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about RobotEd products, printed parts, shipping, open source and support.
Products and compatibility
What does RobotEd sell?
RobotEd sells selected open-source robotics kits, electronics configurations, and made-to-order 3D-printed parts. Each product page states exactly what is included.
Are Print Packs complete robots?
No. Print Packs contain only the listed 3D-printed structural parts. Motors, electronics, fasteners, power supplies, cameras, wheels and other non-printed hardware are not included unless a product page explicitly says otherwise.
What is included with the SO-101 Robot Arm Kit?
Choose the configuration that matches your build: Full Kit, Electronics Only, or 3D Printed Parts Only. The selection on the product page defines the exact contents and price.
Which camera works with the SO-101 camera mounts?
The Wrist Camera Mount and Overhead Camera Tower are designed around a 32 × 32 mm UVC camera module. The camera itself is not included.
Can I buy just the SO-101 wrist camera mount?
Yes. It is a small printed accessory for the SO-101 follower arm. It is also available at a reduced bundle price when added with an SO-101 configuration.
Are your products compatible with LeRobot?
RobotEd sells physical components based on the relevant open-source designs. Software compatibility, firmware versions and the final setup remain dependent on the upstream project documentation and your own configuration.
3D printing and colours
Where are RobotEd printed parts made?
RobotEd Print Packs are manufactured and checked in the Canton of Zürich, Switzerland.
Which colours can I choose?
Standard Print Pack colour choices are Grey, Black and White. Available colours are shown on the individual product page.
Why do printed parts show layer lines or small marks?
Layer lines, minor surface texture and occasional support-contact marks are normal properties of functional FDM printing. RobotEd checks that parts are suitable for their intended use before packing.
Are printed parts made to order?
Most Print Packs are made to order. This allows RobotEd to manufacture, inspect and sort the required parts instead of claiming unlimited ready stock.
Can I request a custom material or colour?
Contact support before ordering. Custom colours, materials or modifications may have different pricing, lead times and return conditions.
Can I download and print the files myself?
Yes, where the upstream project makes files available. RobotEd charges for physical manufacturing, preparation, quality control and fulfilment, not for restricting access to open-source files.
Shipping, orders and returns
Where does RobotEd ship?
At launch, physical products ship to Switzerland and Liechtenstein only.
Is shipping included?
Yes. Swiss and Liechtenstein shipping is included in the displayed V1 product price. There is no separate standard delivery charge at checkout.
When will my order dispatch?
Stocked electronics and in-stock printed parts normally dispatch within one working day. Made-to-order Print Packs and complete kits requiring printing normally dispatch within two to four working days.
How long does Swiss Post delivery take?
After dispatch, PostPac Economy normally takes around two working days and Priority normally around one working day. These are carrier estimates, not guaranteed dates.
How do I track an order?
When tracking is available, RobotEd sends a dispatch email with the tracking number once your parcel has been handed to the carrier.
Can I return an item?
Standard, unused and resellable products can normally be requested for return within 14 days of receipt. Contact support before sending anything back. Custom-made items may be excluded from change-of-mind returns.
What if something is missing, damaged or defective?
Email support@roboted.ch with your order number and clear photographs where useful. RobotEd will normally replace a missing or defective component rather than asking you to return an entire kit unnecessarily.
Accounts, payments and support
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can check out without a RobotEd account. An account is useful for keeping future orders and newsletter preferences in one place.
What if my Stripe checkout email differs from my RobotEd account email?
If you start Checkout while signed in, the order is linked to your RobotEd account even if you use a different receipt or delivery email in Stripe.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. The payment methods shown in Stripe Checkout are the methods available for your order.
Can I use a discount code?
When an active RobotEd promotion is available, enter it in the discount-code field in Stripe Checkout.
How do I get support?
Write to support@roboted.ch and include your RobotEd order number for order-related questions. RobotEd normally replies within one to two working days.
How do I unsubscribe from the newsletter?
Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or manage the preference in your RobotEd account.
Open source and safety
Did RobotEd design these robots?
Not necessarily. RobotEd is an independent manufacturer and seller of compatible physical parts. Original authors, repositories and licences are credited on applicable product and resource pages.
What does open source mean here?
The upstream design files remain under their respective licences. Buying a RobotEd-manufactured product does not stop you from accessing the original files where they are publicly available.
Are robotics products safe for children?
Robotics builds can involve moving mechanisms, electrical systems, motors and power supplies. Use appropriate supervision, follow the relevant instructions, inspect parts before use and stop using damaged equipment.
Where can I find build instructions and files?
Visit Build guides for RobotEd assembly resources, or Downloads for available upstream STL and CAD resources. Product pages also link to their relevant project material.
